FAQ

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Metadata is read and removed in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDF never leaves your device.

What gets removed?

Title, author, subject, keywords, the creator and producer application names, creation date, modification date, and the document's XMP metadata stream if it has one.

How is this different from Edit PDF Metadata?

Edit PDF Metadata lets you set new values for specific fields. This tool clears all of them in one click, for when you just want the identifying information gone rather than replaced.

Will this change the document's visible content?

No. Only the hidden document properties are removed; the pages themselves are untouched.
