FAQ
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Redaction happens in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDF never leaves your device.
Does this actually remove the content, or just cover it with a black box?
It's permanently removed. Every page you mark is converted into a flattened image with the black boxes burned into the pixels -- there's no hidden text or image layer left underneath to recover, unlike simply drawing a black rectangle on top of the original page.
Will the redacted pages still have selectable text?
No -- flattening to an image is what guarantees the content underneath is actually gone. Pages you don't mark are left completely untouched, so their text stays selectable and searchable.
What if I make a mistake?
Click the × on a box to remove it before downloading, or upload the file again to start over.
